This song was composed by Milton Ager with lyrics by Jack Yellen and was published in 1927. It gained popularity during the first half of the twentieth century and became characteristic of the Jazz Age era. Similar to another well-known composition from 1929, it achieved the status of a Tin Pan Alley standard. Both Ager and Yellen were later honored with induction into the Songwriters Hall of Fame.
