This John Lennon composition, credited to Lennon–McCartney, appears as the closing track on side one of the Beatles' 1969 album Abbey Road. Billy Preston contributed Hammond organ to the recording. Though it was the first song the band recorded for the album, it was among the last to be completed. The four Beatles members gathered together in the studio on August 20, 1969 to mix the track, which turned out to be their final session together as a complete group.
