Ray Charles wrote and released this rhythm and blues single in 1956 through Atlantic Records. The following year, it appeared on his self-titled debut album, also on Atlantic. The song achieved notable commercial success, reaching number five on the Billboard R&B chart. The composition was loosely inspired by an earlier work by Ike Turner from 1953.
