Lyrics ↗What the lyrics are about
The song explores a character's reflections on life's ironies and disappointments, including a past romantic relationship with a lawyer she had rejected despite his love for her. Upon reuniting years later, she recognizes her own love for him, only to face rejection when his circumstances have changed, as he is bound by his marriage to a younger woman.
