This was Elvis Presley's third soundtrack album and seventh overall album, released by RCA Victor in October 1960. It accompanied the 1960 film of the same name in which Presley starred. Recording occurred in April and May 1960 at California studios. The album achieved significant commercial success, topping the Billboard chart for ten weeks and earning gold certification in 1963 and platinum in 1992.
