Suspicious Minds

Elvis Presley All songs A–Z

"Suspicious Minds" was originally written and recorded by Mark James in 1968, but his version achieved no commercial success. Elvis Presley subsequently recorded a new version with producer Chips Moman, which became a major hit, reaching the top of the US Billboard Hot 100 chart. This marked Presley's eighteenth and last number-one single on the Billboard pop chart. The recording was later honored with induction into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 1999 and was recognized as one of only two Presley songs included in a CBS News compilation of the 250 most essential American songs.
