The Black League
Black League was a Finnish heavy metal band active from 1998 to 2014, founded by Taneli Jarva three years after he left the gothic metal group Sentenced. The band's early albums maintained the aesthetic of Jarva's previous work while incorporating classic rock and roll elements into their heavy metal foundation. By their third studio release, Man's Ruin Revisited, these rock influences became increasingly central to their musical identity. The band disbanded in October 2014 when Jarva announced his departure due to diminished creative motivation.
