Billy Preston
Billy Preston and Syreeta were American soul and funk artists who collaborated on the 1981 Motown album of duets bearing their names. Preston, active from 1946 until 2006, was a versatile session musician known for his work across funk, soul, gospel, and R&B genres, earning recognition as a significant contributor to popular music. The duet album featured production by Ollie Brown and Michael Masser, with the latter also contributing songwriting. A reissue on CD in 2013 expanded the original material with additional tracks, introducing their work to new audiences through SoulMusic Records.
