The 6ths

The 6ths is an American musical project initiated by Stephin Merritt in 1993. Merritt, known for his work with the Magnetic Fields, the Gothic Archies, and Future Bible Heroes, created the 6ths as a distinctive collaborative venture. The project features Merritt composing and performing instrumental arrangements while inviting different vocalists to sing each track, resulting in a rotating cast of featured artists across releases. The group has produced two acclaimed studio albums and generated numerous collaborative recordings, establishing itself as a notable platform for experimental songwriting and cross-genre vocal partnerships.
