"Twist and Shout" was originally written in 1961 by Phil Medley and Bert Berns. The Top Notes first recorded it, but the song did not achieve commercial success until the Isley Brothers recorded a reworked version for their 1962 album of the same name. The track subsequently became popular among numerous artists, including the Beatles, Salt-N-Pepa, and Chaka Demus & Pliers, all of whom achieved chart success with their respective renditions.
