Vol. 4 is Black Sabbath's fourth studio album, released in September 1972 through Vertigo Records. It marked a departure from previous releases as it was the band's first album without producer Rodger Bain, with guitarist Tony Iommi taking on production responsibilities instead. Band manager Patrick Meehan received co-producer credit, though his actual contribution to the production process was reportedly minimal.
