"Viva Las Vegas" is a 1964 composition by Doc Pomus and Mort Shuman, originally recorded by Elvis Presley for a film bearing the same name. The film and song were planned for release the following year. Despite Presley never performing the song in concert, it has grown into one of his most recognizable recordings and has been frequently covered by other artists. The single, paired with "What'd I Say," received gold certification from the RIAA in March 1992 after achieving sales of 500,000 copies within the United States.
