Bert Kaempfert

Bert Kaempfert was a German musician and composer active from the mid-1920s until his death in 1980. He became known for his contributions to jazz and easy listening music, developing a distinctive style characterized by sweet, gentle arrangements. Kaempfert's work spanned several decades and helped define the sound of popular music during the mid-twentieth century. He passed away from a stroke on June 21, 1980. His recordings and compositions were later affected by the 2008 Universal fire, which destroyed much of the company's archival material.
