Five Stairsteps
The Five Stairsteps were a Chicago-based soul group comprising five of the six children of Betty and Clarence Burke Sr.: Alohe Jean, Clarence Jr., James, Dennis, and Kenneth, with Cubie joining briefly. Dubbed "The First Family of Soul" and later "The Invisible Man's Band," the group became an enduring fixture in soul music. Their signature achievement remains the 1970 ballad "O-o-h Child," which later earned recognition as one of Rolling Stone's 500 Greatest Songs of All Time, cementing their place in popular music history.
