DAYDREAMER cover

DAYDREAMER is a cognitive architecture system created at UCLA by Erik T. Mueller and Michael G. Dyer starting in 1983. It simulates human thought processes and daydreaming by accepting situational descriptions as input and generating English-language daydreams as output. The system learns and stores new daydreams, plans, and strategies for future application. Its five core components include a scenario generator, episodic memory system, goal management, emotion processing, and knowledge of social interactions. The source code became freely available in 2015.
