Bears are a group of carnivoran mammals belonging to the family Ursidae, classified within the suborder Caniformia. Though only eight species exist today, they maintain a widespread presence across diverse habitats, primarily throughout the Northern Hemisphere with some populations in the Southern Hemisphere. Bears inhabit North America, South America, and Eurasia. These mammals are distinguished by their large, robust bodies supported by sturdy legs, elongated snouts, and small rounded ears. Their physical features include thick shaggy fur, five-clawed plantigrade paws, and notably short tails, which contribute to their recognizable silhouette across various ecological regions.
