ZARD
Zard was a Japanese pop rock band that achieved significant commercial success in the domestic music market. The group, which originally consisted of five members, was anchored by vocalist Izumi Sakai, who remained the sole constant member throughout the ensemble's existence. Operating under the B-Gram Records label, Zard gained widespread popularity through hit tracks including "Makenaide" and "Yureru Omoi," both released in 1993, followed by "My Friend" in 1996. By 2023, the band had amassed over 38 million record sales, establishing themselves among Japan's best-selling musical acts.
