The Buckinghams are an American pop band from Chicago who emerged during the mid-1960s. Forming in 1966, they rapidly achieved commercial success, becoming one of the year's leading recording acts by 1967. Their chart presence was concentrated that year, when all five of their top 40 hits reached American audiences, establishing them as prominent figures in the baroque and psychedelic pop landscape. The band ceased operations in 1970 but reunited a decade later in 1980. The group has remained active since their reformation, continuing to perform across the United States into the present day.
