Barış Manço

Barış Manço was a Turkish rock musician, singer, and composer who emerged as a pioneering force in Turkish rock music during the mid-20th century. Beginning his musical pursuits while at Galatasaray High School, he became instrumental in establishing Anatolian rock as a distinctive genre. Over his career, Manço wrote approximately 200 compositions and achieved significant commercial success, earning numerous accolades and establishing himself among Turkey's best-selling artists. His influence extended internationally, with his songs translated into multiple languages across Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. Beyond music, Manço worked as an actor, television producer, and host, notably presenting the travel program 7'den 77'ye. He remains an iconic figure in Turkish popular culture.
