The Hollies are an English rock and pop band formed in Manchester in 1962 by singer Allan Clarke and guitarist Graham Nash. Emerging as one of Britain's most prominent acts of the 1960s and 1970s, the group's classic lineup featured Clarke, Nash, lead guitarist Tony Hicks, and drummer Bobby Elliott, alongside bassist Bernie Calvert from 1966. Early compositions were primarily written by Clarke, Hicks, and Nash until Nash's departure in 1968 to join Crosby, Stills & Nash. The band underwent numerous lineup changes over subsequent decades, with Clarke remaining until 2000. By 2004, the group stabilized with Hicks and Elliott alongside new members Peter Howarth, Steve Lauri, Ray Stiles, and Ian Parker, continuing their legacy in rock and pop music.
