The Sound of Music
The Sound of Music is a musical created by composer Richard Rodgers, lyricist Oscar Hammerstein II, and book writers Howard Lindsay and Russel Crouse. Adapted from Maria von Trapp's 1949 memoir about her family, the work is set in Austria in 1938 and follows Maria, a young woman who becomes governess to a captain's seven children and ultimately helps the family escape Nazi occupation.
