Đorđe Balašević

Đorđe Balašević was a Serbian singer, songwriter, writer, and poet born in 1953. He launched his musical career in the late 1970s with the band Rani Mraz, initially recording two albums before pursuing a solo path. His songwriting gained widespread recognition through Rani Mraz's hit "Računajte na nas," which became emblematic of its generation. Throughout his career, Balašević distinguished himself through thoughtful, poetic lyrics and the integration of political themes into both his recorded work and live performances. He remained an influential figure in Serbian rock music until his death in February 2021.
