Bal-Sagoth

Bal-Sagoth is a symphonic black metal band from Sheffield, England, formed in 1993. The group emerged as a distinctive force in the genre, blending black metal with orchestral arrangements and death metal influences. Vocalist and lyricist Byron Roberts named the band after a fictional location from Robert E. Howard's fantasy fiction. Following their initial 1993 demo, Bal-Sagoth went on to release six studio albums across two major labels, establishing themselves as a significant presence in extreme metal's symphonic branch.
