“Whispering” Jack Smith
Whispering Jack Smith was an American baritone singer and entertainer whose career spanned from the late 1890s through the mid-twentieth century. Rising to prominence during the 1920s and 1930s, he became a notable figure in radio and recording, earning renown for his distinctive vocal style. Smith also appeared in occasional film roles throughout his career. Following a period of reduced visibility, he experienced a brief professional resurgence in the late 1940s. He died of a heart attack in 1950.
