Alfred Matthew "Weird Al" Yankovic is an American musician, songwriter, and actor renowned for creating comedy music that reimagines popular songs through parody and stylistic imitation. A distinctive feature of his work is his use of the accordion, particularly in polka arrangements of contemporary hits. Beginning his professional career in 1976 when one of his songs was featured on The Dr. Demento Radio Show, Yankovic has achieved substantial commercial success, with over 12 million albums sold worldwide.
