The Wannadies
Wannadies is a Swedish alternative rock band established in 1988 in Skellefteå. The group's original ensemble included vocalists Pär Wiksten and Christina Bergmark, alongside musicians Micke Herrström on keyboards, guitarists Stefan and Fredrik Schönfeldt, drummer Gunnar Karlsson, and violinist Björn Malmquist. The band achieved international recognition through their 1994 single "You and Me Song," which experienced renewed chart success in 1996 after being featured in the film Romeo + Juliet, reaching number 18 on the UK Singles Chart. Following their initial run from 1988 to 2009, Wannadies made a brief return in 2016 before resuming activities more substantially around 2020.
