A piano ballad written by Paul McCartney in 1968 at his Scottish farm during a period of band tension, and recorded in January 1969 with minimal instrumentation. Released on the 1970 album Let It Be, the track was later enhanced with orchestral and choral arrangements added by a hired producer after the band members handed over their recordings.
