"Dear Friend" is a song by Wings that appeared as the second-to-last track on their first studio album Wild Life in 1971. Paul and Linda McCartney wrote the piece, which was intended as an olive branch toward Paul's estranged former Beatles colleague John Lennon. Their relationship had deteriorated since the Beatles disbanded, with both musicians having made critical references to each other through their respective songs during 1971, including Paul's "Too Many People" and Lennon's "How Do You Sleep?"
