Tommy James & the Shondells

Tommy James and the Shondells were an American rock band established in Niles, Michigan, in 1964. The group became prominent during the late 1960s with a string of successful singles that blended psychedelic and pop rock elements. They achieved two number-one hits on the U.S. charts: "Hanky Panky" in 1966, which earned RIAA Gold certification, and "Crimson and Clover" in 1968. Beyond these chart-toppers, the band produced twelve additional top 40 entries, with five reaching the top ten, including "I Think We're Alone Now," "Mony Mony," and "Crystal Blue Persuasion." The band remained active throughout the 1960s, leaving a lasting mark on psychedelic pop music.
