Tego Calderón is a Puerto Rican rapper and actor who emerged as a significant figure in reggaeton and Latin urban music. Beginning his career in 1996, he gained recognition through collaborations with established artist Eddie Dee before achieving international prominence with his 2003 debut album El Abayarde, which reached 300,000 copies sold worldwide and earned a Latin Grammy nomination. Throughout his career, Calderón expanded his musical range, incorporating hip-hop and African influences alongside reggaeton. His 2015 album El Que Sabe, Sabe won a Latin Grammy Award for Best Urban Music Album, cementing his influence across multiple genres within Latin music.
