Chuck Berry wrote this song during his imprisonment in the early 1960s for Mann Act violations. It was released in 1964 as part of the St. Louis to Liverpool album and as a single following "No Particular Place to Go." The song reached number 14 on the charts, marking Berry's last Top 40 hit until "My Ding-a-Ling" topped the charts in 1972. It also achieved Top 40 success in Canada and the United Kingdom.
