Marinna Louise Teal, known professionally as Strings and Tateeze, is an American rapper and jeweler from the United States. Rising to prominence in the late 1990s, she gained recognition through featured appearances on high-profile remixes, including R. Kelly's "Gotham City" and Keith Sweat's "I'm Not Ready," establishing herself as a notable figure in hip-hop. Tateeze signed with multiple major labels throughout her career, beginning with Rockland Records in 1995 and later Sweat Records in 1998. Her 2000 single "Tongue Song" achieved chart success on the Hot Rap Songs chart and was slated to precede her debut album, The Black Widow, which ultimately remained unreleased. In 2002, she became the second female artist to join Cash Money Records.
