The Stranglers

The Stranglers are an English rock band that emerged from Guildford, Surrey in 1974. Featuring Hugh Cornwell on guitar and vocals, Jean-Jacques Burnel on bass and vocals, Dave Greenfield on keyboards, and Jet Black on drums, the group's most celebrated period spanned from 1975 to 1990. The band achieved significant commercial success, accumulating 23 UK top 40 singles and 20 UK top 40 albums throughout their career. As one of the most enduring acts originating from the British punk movement, the Stranglers have maintained an active presence across more than five decades, blending punk, new wave, and post-punk elements into their distinctive sound.
