Story of the Year

Story of the Year is an American rock band from St. Louis, Missouri, originating in 1995 under the name 67 North. Initially performing nu metal, the group underwent two name changes before settling on Story of the Year in 2002, following the release of their self-titled EP on Criterion Records. The band's earlier incarnation as Big Blue Monkey (1998–2002) was eventually abandoned, though they later admitted via their podcast that the stated reason of another band sharing the name was not entirely truthful. Story of the Year has since become known for their work across alternative rock, emo, screamo, and related post-hardcore and pop-punk styles.
