Stormtroopers of Death
Stormtroopers of Death was an American crossover thrash band formed in New York City in 1985. The group is recognized as a pioneering force in the crossover thrash genre, blending elements of hardcore punk and thrash metal. The band reunited Anthrax guitarist Scott Ian and drummer Charlie Benante with bassist Dan Lilker. Their 1985 debut album, Speak English or Die, featured the instrumental track "March of the S.O.D.", which became widely known as the opening theme for MTV's Headbangers Ball. The same album included "Chromatic Death", another track that gained exposure through the program. The band remained active until 2002.
