Spock’s Beard

Spock's Beard is an American progressive rock band from Los Angeles, formed in 1992 by brothers Neal and Alan Morse alongside bassist John Ballard and drummer Nick D'Virgilio. Following their debut album The Light in 1995, the band established itself as a significant force in symphonic and neo-progressive rock, with keyboardist Ryo Okumoto joining the lineup. After Neal Morse's departure in 2002, D'Virgilio assumed frontman duties. The group underwent further lineup changes in the 2010s, with Ted Leonard becoming lead vocalist and drummer Nick Potters joining by the time of their fourteenth studio album, The Archaeoptimist. Known for blending symphonic prog with rock opera elements, Spock's Beard has remained an influential act in the contemporary progressive rock scene.
