Something for Kate is an Australian alternative rock band formed in 1994, fronted by Paul Dempsey on lead vocals and guitar alongside drummer Clint Hyndman. Bassist and backing vocalist Stephanie Ashworth joined the group in 1998, completing their core lineup. The band have released seven studio albums, with two achieving chart-topping success on the ARIA Albums Chart: The Official Fiction and Desert Lights. Several additional releases, including Beautiful Sharks, Echolalia, and Leave Your Soul to Science, reached the top 10. Their commercial success extends to singles, with "Monsters" and "Déjà Vu" both charting in the ARIA top 20. The band received multiple ARIA Music Award nominations across 1999, 2001, and 2003.
