The Sensational Alex Harvey Band
The Sensational Alex Harvey Band were a Scottish rock ensemble that emerged from Glasgow in 1972, led by vocalist Alex Harvey alongside guitarist Zal Cleminson, bassist Chris Glen, keyboardist Hugh McKenna, and drummer Ted McKenna. Their sound merged blues and hard rock influences with cabaret sensibilities, while their live shows were distinguished by theatrical presentation. Active until 1977, the band achieved particular success across continental Europe and left a significant mark on the Australian music scene, notably influencing AC/DC and the early incarnation of Nick Cave's the Boys Next Door.
