Shinji Hosoe is a Japanese video game composer and musician renowned for his work on prominent arcade titles during the late 1980s and 1990s. Operating under the stage names Megaten and Sampling Masters MEGA, Hosoe became widely recognized for his contributions to seminal Namco games, particularly Ridge Racer and Street Fighter EX. His prolific scoring career spanned from 1987 to 1996, establishing him as a key figure in arcade game music. Beyond composition, Hosoe co-founded SuperSweep, a music production and publishing company he continues to operate with longtime creative partner Ayako Saso.
