Rurouni Kenshin: Meiji Swordsman Romantic Story is a Japanese manga series created by writer and illustrator Nobuhiro Watsuki. Set in 1878 during Japan's Meiji era, the narrative centers on a former government assassin from the Bakumatsu period who adopts a new identity as Himura Kenshin, a wandering swordsman dedicated to protecting Japan's citizens.
