The Rivieras
The Rivieras were an American rock and surf rock group that emerged in 1962. Operating during the height of the surf rock era, they contributed to the frat rock and rock and roll sound that defined early 1960s American popular music. The band remained active until 1966, recording during a period when surf-influenced guitar work and energetic rock compositions dominated the charts. Their style blended elements of traditional rock and roll with the surf rock aesthetic that characterized much of their contemporaries' output during this five-year span.
