Elis Regina
Regina Elis was a Brazilian singer and performer active from 1945 to 1982. Working primarily in the genres of MPB (Música Popular Brasileira), bossa nova, and Latin music, she became an important figure in Brazil's popular music landscape during the mid-to-late twentieth century. Her career spanned nearly four decades, during which she contributed to the development and popularization of distinctly Brazilian musical styles. Elis passed away in 1982 at the age of 36.
