Pulnoc is a Czech rock band formed in 1988 by Milan Hlavsa, Josef Janíček, and Jiří Kabeš, three former members of the Plastic People of the Universe. Hlavsa recruited his sister-in-law, Michaela Němcová, as lead vocalist. The band emerged after the Plastic People faced government restrictions on touring and performing. In spring 1989, Pulnoc undertook a significant tour of the United States, where they garnered substantial critical acclaim. Their concerts blended heavy metal, art-rock, operatic vocals, and driving rhythms, earning widespread praise from American audiences and critics alike.
