Public Image Limited is an English post-punk ensemble established in June 1978 by vocalist John Lydon, guitarist Keith Levene, bassist Jah Wobble, and drummer Jim Walker. Operating across rock, experimental, and alternative genres, the band has undergone numerous personnel shifts throughout its history. Lydon remains the group's only continuous member, serving as the defining creative force. Known for their boundary-pushing approach to post-punk and alternative music, Public Image Limited has maintained an influential presence in British rock and experimental music since their formation.
