Army of Lovers is a Swedish dance-pop ensemble that emerged in 1987 and established itself as a significant force in European pop music during the 1990s. The group achieved widespread recognition with their 1992 single "Crucified," which became their signature track, spending 31 weeks on the Eurochart and reaching number 14. This song remains their most recognizable work internationally. Their follow-up hit "Obsession" also performed strongly on European charts, spending 32 weeks in circulation and peaking at number 29. The band remained active until 2001, contributing notable synth-pop and eurodance material to the decade's musical landscape.
