Arashi was a Japanese boy band consisting of five members: Satoshi Ohno, Sho Sakurai, Masaki Aiba, Kazunari Ninomiya, and Jun Matsumoto. Formed by Johnny & Associates and announced in September 1999 during an event off Hawaii's coast, the group officially debuted that November. Initially signed to Pony Canyon, they released their debut single in 1999 before moving to the Johnny's subsidiary label J Storm in 2001 for subsequent projects. The band remained with Johnny & Associates until 2023, when they transitioned to representation under Starto Entertainment. Arashi was active in the j-pop and dance-pop genres until their disbandment in May 2026.
