The Oak Ridge Boys are an American vocal quartet formed in 1945, blending pop, country, and southern gospel styles. The group's most enduring lineup—featuring Duane Allen on lead vocals, William Lee Golden on baritone, Richard Sterban on bass, and Joe Bonsall on tenor—remained together from 1973 to 2023, with a brief exception from 1987 to 1995 when Steve Sanders temporarily replaced Golden. Ben James joined as tenor in December 2023, following Bonsall's departure. The group has maintained a significant presence in American popular music across multiple decades.
