Aphrodite's Child was a Greek progressive rock band formed in 1967 by Evangelos Papathanassiou (later known as Vangelis), Demis Roussos, Loukas Sideras, and Silver Koulouris. The group achieved early European success with pop-oriented singles including "Rain and Tears," "End of the World," "I Want to Live," and "It's Five O'Clock." They later shifted toward progressive rock with their third album, 666 (1972), a concept work drawing from the Book of Revelation. Though short-lived, the album subsequently earned critical recognition and ranks among influential progressive and psychedelic releases of its era.
