Nomeansno was a Canadian punk rock band that emerged from Victoria, British Columbia in 1979 before establishing themselves in Vancouver. Over their 37-year existence, they released 11 studio albums alongside numerous EPs and singles, including a notable collaborative project with Jello Biafra. The group synthesized punk's raw intensity with heavy metal's technical precision, delivering compositions marked by intricate arrangements and intellectually provocative lyrics. Their uncompromising approach to hardcore punk proved influential across multiple genres, shaping the development of punk jazz, post-hardcore, math rock, and emo. The band disbanded in 2016.
