"Bittersweet Me" is the second single from R.E.M.'s tenth studio album, New Adventures in Hi-Fi, released in October 1996 by Warner Records. The song was composed during the band's Monster tour road dates but was never performed live in concert, only during soundchecks. It achieved greater commercial success in the United States than the album's first single, though it peaked at number six on the Modern Rock Tracks chart compared to that single's number-two position.
